How Do You Want to Feel In Your Body?
How do you want to feel in your body?
No, not how do you want to feel once your body is the size youβve been dreaming about.
In this current moment, what are the feelings that you want to feel, and truly experience, in your body ππ»?
βYes, even if you feel uncomfortable in it!
If you struggle with body image, you might not be totally sure π€.
Because youβve attached yourself to a size, a number or a shape. And youβre likely hoping that once you hit those milestones, youβll FINALLY feel differently than you do right now.
One of the problems with attaching to these external measures is that your body wasnβt made to stay, or be, one size forever.
ππΌItβs designed to find its happy place- a range of pounds- where your body wants to be and can effortlessly maintain.
If youβve been clinging to the vision of your college-bod or the pre-baby-bod you once had, youβre likely setting yourself up hurt, struggle and exhausting dieting cycles.
I get it! Itβs hard to move away from the dream. From the idea that you can get there, because society tells us that itβs possible. Only if you just try a litttttle bit harder.
I want you to know that you donβt need to try a little harder π π».
βBecause your body is meant to change over time.
I like to think that our bodies experience seasons just like mother nature.
Our job isnβt to spin our wheels trying to control the seasons with diets and exercise. Because the more we try to control, the more out of control weβll be.
Itβs our job to trust that our bodies know what theyβre doing in each season of life.
Itβs our job to intentionally shift back to creating and experiencing what we want to feel in the body that we have right now.
For me, I always want to feel at home in my body.
βSome days I also want to feel rested, slow and comforted.
βSome days I want to feel energized, powerful and strong.
βRegardless of the day, I always shift back to wanting to feel at home.
And I do what I need to do to nurture, call to mind and intentionally ground myself in that feeling.
Yes, even on days that cellulite is popping and my pants are feeling a little snug. And especially on days that I feel plain old uncomfortable π¨.
Because in order to feel at home with myself, I need to trust that my body knows what itβs doing in this season of life. And I need to care for it, honor it and BE IN IT to do so.
