ON THEIR TERMS
We commit to:
Acknowledging our many privileges as cis-gender, white women.
Always trusting you, your lived experience, and what you feel is right for your body.
Listening to and honoring your story.
Holding space for the wide range of your emotions and parts of you that feel present throughout our work together.
Asking for your consent as we navigate where, when, and if you’re ready to be pushed.
Upholding our relationship as the most important part of this process. And doing the hard work to repair it, strengthen it, and respect it at all times.
Sharing parts of ourselves and our experiences as humans, when you provide consent for us to do so.
Relentlessly advocating for the inclusion and equality of all bodies.
What we want you to know…
We’re trauma therapists.
What that means is that we don’t see your struggles as random, dramatic, or “just how you are.”
The overthinking.
The people-pleasing.
The shutting down.
The disconnect from your body.
The cycles with food.
Those are patterns your nervous system learned for a reason.
Some of our clients come in with experiences that are clearly traumatic. Things like abuse, neglect, betrayal, loss.
Others say, “nothing that bad happened… but something still feels off.”
Both belong here.
Because trauma isn’t just about what happened. It’s also about what was missing, what felt unsafe, or what your system had to adapt to over time.
Our work focuses on helping you understand why your system works the way it does,
and how to shift those patterns without shame or force.
We also want you to know…
Staying stuck in patterns like overfunctioning, self-abandonment, or emotional shutdown
can, and maybe have, slowly pull you away from the life you want.
Not because you’re doing something wrong, but because your system learned how to survival first.
It’s not your fault.
Not the patterns.
Not how hard this has been.
Healing is possible. In steady, real ways that help you feel more connected, to your body, your needs, and yourself.
We believe:
All bodies are worthy of care, compassion, and respect.
All bodies deserve to feel safe.
And all bodies are worthy of a life that isn’t organized around shame or survival.
We’re here to support you to Reclaim YOU from the impact of trauma, disordered eating and toxic shame.
Here at Reclaim Therapy, we specialize in providing trauma therapy, treating body image issues, binge eating therapy, eating disorder treatment, and providing EMDR Therapy in Horsham, PA.
